McNabb Volunteer Fire Department is located at 391 IL RT 89 McNabb, Illinois in Putnam County.
Our department was established in 1947.
Our Fire Chief is James "Phil" Brester. He has been chief since 2007. There are 14 members on our dept which include Chief, Captain, Safety Officer, Firefighters, and a Radio Communicator. We also have many that are EMS as well. We have 1 Paramedic, 2 EMT-B's, and 6 First Responder.
Our dept also has 2 female firefighters and 1 female radio communicator.
Our dept covers primarily rural area and has approximately 20 calls annually.
We belong to MABAS DIVISION 57.
Our dept in conjuction with the W.D. Boyce Council Boy Scouts of America currently established a Fire Explorer Program for boys AND girls ages 14-21 who have completed the 8th Grade and are interested in the fire field and are wanting to gain the training and "explore" what takes place in a fire dept.
